KATHMANDU – Senior leader of CPN UML Madhav Kumar Nepal has claimed that the ruling coalition partners UCPN Maoist and JDMF had promised for not asking the leadership of national consensus government.

Speaking to Rishi Dhamala in the talk show The R D Show, an interview to be televised on the Himalayan Television on Saturday night, Nepal said that such a promise was made to him.

He claimed that he had proposed to form the consensus government in Nepali Congress’s leadership on the basis of that promises.

“UCPN Maoist and CPN UML have already headed the governemnt two times. So its time now that NC leads the consensus government to hold election,” Nepal said.

Nepal further expressed hope to form such a government before Dashain and urged NC for coming up with a Prime Ministerial candidate for it.

While suspecting the Maoist intentions, Nepal said that NC should not make delay in picking its Prime Ministerial candidate.
