Prez doesnot have the right to remove or appoint PM: Gyanwali

CPN (UML) politburo member Pradeep Gyawali has said President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav would not be able to do anything to form the new government as he has no right to appoint and remove the Prime Minister.

Speaking with the media persons after participating in the UML’s Ninth district meeting in Gulmi today he said the President neither has the right to remove the Prime Minister nor appoint him as the Interim Constitution has given no rights to this effect.

“President Dr. Yadav can only call the political parties to bring new candidate for a new Prime Minister giving a certain time limit in the place of this caretaker government,” said leader Gyawali.

He opined that the political parties should not drag the president to the controversy rather they should forge consensus among themselves. He was of the opinion that consensus was not possible unless the government, Unified CPN (Maoist), and the Madhesh centric political parties were more flexible.

The option of the reinstatement of the Constituent Assembly (CA) almost ended as there is no alternative to the CA election, he added.
