Baidya warns to launch constitution from the streets

CPN-Maoist Chairman Mohan Baidya has warned that the constitution would be announced from the streets if the parties failed to agree for a roundtable conference to seek a political way out.

Inaugurating the first national conference of the party’s national people’s volunteers in the capital on Wednesday, Chairman Baidya said if other parties did not heed his party’s demand of roundtable conference, they would emerge vigorous against fresh elections to the Constituent Assembly.

Indicating towards the UCPN-Maoist party he defected recently, Baidya accused it of forgetting people’s problems after grabbing power and position.

The country cannot get rid of crisis until the anti-nationalist forces are in power, he said, demanding the formation of a government comprising patriotic and pro-federalists.

Party secretary and national people’s volunteers’ In-Charge Netra Bikram Chand accused the UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML of deceiving the people.
