Police clash with protestors at Patan Hospital

LALITPUR, DEC 13 – Patan Hospital is tense since Thursday morning following a clash between the police and the doctors and hospital staffs.

The clash was triggered after the newly elected Vice Chancellor Sangeeta Bhandari broke the padlock at the hospital administration office, put by the doctors and hospital staffs, with the help of the police. Police had to intervene on Thursday as the protestors did not let Bhandari enter her office.

The doctors and staff had padlocked the administration office stating that Bhandari’s appointment as the vice chancellor was influenced by the political parties. They have demanded to scrape Bhandari’s nomination and have an in-depth investigation on the alleged corruption in the hospital.
