SLC results out; 48 per cent of total students clear exams;


The results of the School Leaving Certificate SLC exams have been published today. The results were publicized by the Office of the Controller of Examinations Sanothimi, Bhaktapur this evening. According to the results, 41.57 per cent from the regular category and 7.76 per cent from the exempted category have cleared the exams this year. Among a total of 547,165 students who had appeared for the 79th edition of the SLC exams held on March 13-24 earlier this year, 176,253 have passed the exams- which includes 167,935 students from the regular category and 8,301 students from the exempted category. 


16,924 examinees from the regular students and one from the exempted are in the distinction level, while 76,165 students from the regular category and 117 students from the exempted category have scored first division marks. 

A total of 69,830 regular students and 5,848 exempted students have cleared the exams in the second division. Similarly, the third division level has 5,016 regular students and 2,353 exempted students. 

Twenty thousand students who were unable to meet the criteria were excluded from taking the exams prior to it. There is a provision of knowing the results through various websites and SMS messages. The websites include the Education Ministry’s website moe.gov.np, the Education Department’s website doe.gov.np, the OCE’s website soce.gov.np and Nepal Telecom’s website slc.ntc.net.np, and by calling 1400 at Nepal Telecom. 

The OCE has informed that students who have failed in two subjects will be able to appear for the compart exams to be held from July 4.
