Ex-King Gyanendra performs special Puja at Basantapur

KATHMANDU, JUL 22 – A day after day after the Constituent Assembly (CA) completed the public consultation on the draft constitution, deposed King Gyanendra Shah visited Basantapur-based Pashupatinath temple and offered a special worship in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
The former King took part in special rituals (Rudrabhishek Puja and Hawan) praying for the eternal peace of those killed in the Great Earthquake of April 25 and the subsequent aftershocks.
He spent about an hour taking part in the rituals amid chanting of Vedic Mantras at the temple known as Makhan Pashupatinath.  He visited Basantapur Durbar Square after completing the Puja.  Supporters of Gyanendra chanted slogans in his favour as he arrived at Basantpur. EKANTIPUR
