Flood victims left in lurch

The families of Tepari village in Banke district, who were displaced by Rapti river flood on August 14, 2014, have still not received the compensation announced by the local administration.
Hundreds of families had fled after homes during the flood and settled in a land owned by the forest authority. Now the forest authority is demanding that they leave the place immediately.
The family of Mayawati Aahir returned to their flood-ravaged home after forest authority forced them out from Jhora Community Forest.
