Police have arrested five persons on the charge of trafficking two girls to India.
The accused Sher Bahadur Chepang, his wife Bishnu Maya Shrestha, both of Kaule VDC in Chitwan, and Gobinda Mahato, Buddhi Bhujel and Shani Pangeni, all of Madi Municipality were arrested on the same charge on different dates, police said.
According to a statement released by police on Wednesday, the Chepang couple handed over a 12-year-old girl to a man to traffic her into India. However, the girl was rescued with the help of police and Maiti Nepal from Kanchanpur on April 2.
Likewise, other three suspects also tried to sell off a 16-year-old girl to a brothel in India on April 11. RSS
