The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has today released Rs 11.11 billion for the 11 worst quake-hit districts for reconstruction of quake-damaged houses.
Of the total Rs 12.41 billion provided by the high-powered authority to the Central Project Implementation Unit under the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development, the Implementation Unit released the amount to respective District Development Committees (DDC), according to NRA.
Although 14 districts were declared hardest hit by the 7.6 magnitude quake, the government is providing the financial aid to 11 such districts in this phase. The amount has been allocated as per the repercussion of the quake that struck on April 25, 2015.
NRA spokesperson Ram Prasad Thapaliya told RSS that Dolakha district secured some Rs 2.22 billion while Kavrepalanchowk around Rs 1.96 billion.
Similarly, Sindhupalchowk and Ramechap districts received around Rs 1.76 billion and Rs 1.48 billion, respectively.
Likewise, Gorkha district where the epicenter of the quake was recorded has to content with Rs 214.5 million.
Spokesperson Thapaliya added that the quake-survivors in these districts will receive the amount as a grant as per the agreement made between the respective DDCs and Nepal Rastra Bank. RSS
