A local farmer at Sandhikharka in Arghakhanchi district reckons that his hen has laid the smallest egg so far, measuring 1.85 centimeters (cm).
Previously in 2011, an American peasant laid his claim for the same with the egg measuring 2.1 cm.
With this oddity spotted in the chicken egg, Hari Prasad Adhikari is seeking the needful support from the District Livestock Office, Arghakhanchi to bring it to the notice of the Guinness World Records officials to have it accredited.
“I found my hen laying a tiny egg at Shanti Garden in Sandhikharkha,” gushed Adhikari, adding it measures 0.25 cm smaller than the previous record holding egg.
Dr Ram Narayan Mandal, Chief of District Livestock Office, Arghakhanchi, shared a letter has been dispatched to the Livestock Quality Management Laboratory, Harihar Bhawan in Kathmandu for verification.
Likewise, another letter has been sent to the Guinness Book of World Records for registration for the same, according Dr Mandal. RSS
