Three people were killed and seven others injured when a jeep met with an accident at Dharapani in Dhairing VDC-3 of Parbat district this afternoon.
The deceased have been identified as Ram Maya Damai.50, of Jyamrukot VDC-3, Myagdi, Dil Kumari Budhathoki,30, of Ribhan-9, Kaski and Hari Maya Pun,60, of the same locality, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police of Parbat Shekhar Khanal.
The accident involving the jeep (Ga. 1 Jha. 5102) took place reportedly due to a brake failure on the dirt road. The jeep was carrying passengers from Thotneri of Shalija VDC to Milan chowk of Dhairing VDC, police said.
Of the injured, Amrita Pun,14, of Ribhan-9, Kaski was seriously injured and has been taken to Pokhara for treatment while the remaining are undergoing treatment at the Myagdi district hospital.
The jeep driver Rim Bahadur Fagami has been taken into police custody for necessary investigation and action as per the law. RSS
