An aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) returning to Kathmandu from New Delhi got away with a fatal crash as its rear tyre exploded in course of landing at Tribhuvan Airport today. However, no casualties were reported.
The airbus A320 Lumbini met with an accident at around 12:45 pm, said NAC spokesperson Ram Hari Sharma.
Although the incident took place, he said, the aircraft was landed safely and passengers and crew members exited with unhurt.
The damaged tyre will be repaired till today’s evening or it will be replaced with a new, he added.
Meanwhile, both domestic and international flights to and from the TIA, the sole international airport, were briefly disrupted as the affected plane got stuck on the runway, the airport officials said.
Earlier, the airbus A 320 Sagarmatha aircraft of the NAC got its tyre blown up at New Delhi Airport on Sunday. RSS
