Demand for summoning NC CC meeting

A meeting of a section of party office bearers and central members of the Nepali Congress that took place today at party’s senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel’s contact office, Anamnagar demanded the party leadership call the Central Committee (CC) meeting at the earliest.
The necessity of the meeting was realised to develop party’s official views on the matters relating to the constitution amendment, restructuring of local bodies and government operation, according to party leader Jeevan Pariyar who was present in the meeting.
The meeting focused on the discussions about the upcoming general convention of Tarun Dal, the nomination of state ministers from the party and other contemporary political issues. Majority of participants of the meeting were of the view of holding the Tarun Dal’s general gathering systematically.
The party was yet to be formally informed about the constitution amendment preparations, the meeting concluded, calling upon the party leadership to summon the CC meeting soon to make party views on the same, party leader Bal Bahadur KC said.
The meeting sought party’s official views on the matters of local body restructuring, stating that differing voices were being given from the party senior leaders.
Besides, the party central members attending the meeting sought party’s noticeable role in the government operation. They accused of the over influence of the CPN (Maoist Center) on the government function.
Party General Secretary Dr Shashank Koirala, treasurer and Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Sita Devi Yadav, leaders Prakashman Singh, Dr Ram Sharan Mahat, Dilendra Prasad Badu, Ananda Prasad Dhungana, Dr Minendra Rijal, Mahesh Acharya, some central members and lawmakers were present in the meeting.
