Indian President arrives, President Bhandari receives her counterpart

President Bidya Devi Bhandari received her Indian counterpart Pranab Mukherjee at the VVIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) a while ago.
President Bhandari welcomed the Indian President offering him a bouquet.
The Indian President arrived here this afternoon around 12.20 on a special flight in connection to a three-day state visit at the friendly invitation of President Bhandari.
Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Minister for Urban Development Arjun Narsingh KC, political leaders and Nepalese Army high-ranking officers were at TIA to welcome the Head-of-the-State of the neighbouring country. Senior officials at the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present at the welcome ceremony.
On the occasion, a contingent of Nepalese Army offered a guard of honour to the Indian President. A 21-gun salute was also offered on the occasion.
After the special welcome ceremony at the airport, President Bhandari and her Indian counterpart proceeded in the same limousine to the President’s Office, Shital Niwas.
The presidents of both neighbours are scheduled to have a meeting at the Shital Niwas. People lining up at different places on the sides of the road from the airport to Shital Niwas welcomed the Indian dignitary waving the national flags of both the countries.RSS
