Talks were held between the top brass of the ruling CPN-Maoist Centre and major opposition CPN-UML today, focusing on the issue relating to the constitution amendment.
CPN-MC Chair and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and UML Chair KP Sharma Oli held the talks at the Legislature-Parliament Building at New Baneshower.
Emerging from the talks that lasted for 45 minutes, Prime Minister Dahal shared that the meeting with CPN Chair Oli that dwelt on amendment of new national statute ended into positive note.
According to him, Oli was all positive towards the issue.
The Prime Minister has been intensifying the discussion with the top leaders of the coalition partner Nepali Congress and opposition CPN-UML in a bid to garner consensus on the issue relating to constitution amendment.
The Madheshi Front has given a 15-day ultimatum to the government to present the constitution amendment proposal in the House.
The parliamentarians associated with the Madheshi Front have been boycotting the parliament meetings to pile pressure on the government towards this end. RSS
