Cabinet Decisions: Sugarcane Farmers To Get Rs 60 Per Quintal Product As Grant

The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Friday evening decided to accept 22.7 million US dollars to be provided by the World Bank for the implementation of food and nutrition safety project.
For it, a talk team is formed under the coordination of the Chief of International Economic Cooperation Coordination Division of the Finance Ministry.
Similarly, a talk team has been formed to receive the soft loan of 180 million from the Asian Development Bank for the upgrading of the East-West Highway, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Baskota said, adding that the sugarcane farmers would be provided Rs 60 per quintal of sugarcane as grant. It would be implemented from last May 29. 
The meeting also decided to continue the central child welfare committee and district child welfare committee and gave permission for the operation of child rehabilitation centre in Nepalgunj, Chitwan, Parsa and Rupandehi districts. 
A five member probe committee has been formed under the coordination of former justice at Special Court, Mohan Raman Bhattarai, to probe the irregularities at the Social Welfare Council. 
According to Cabinet decision, the existing structures of the national nature conservation trust, medicinal herbal production and processing company, President Chure Tarai Madhes conservation development committee would be continued with reform, while forest products development committee and timber corporations would be merged. 
The Communications Minister further said the central law library would be shifted to another place, and Rs 1 million provided to the spouse of Hansa Rawat who lost his life during the local election in Bajura district. 
Two Additional Inspector Generals of the Armed Police Force have also been transferred by the government. RSS
