By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Oct 18: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the country has great potential to become rich in a short period.
The PM said so while addressing a meeting of the frontline cadres of the left-democratic coalition at Mangal Bazar in Lalitpur.
He made it clear that due to the responsible work of the concerned minister of the government, the country was saved from facing a situation similar to that of Sri Lanka.
“There were people who argued Nepal would suffer worst financial situation like that of Sri Lanka in any way and there were also people who wanted to see that. The concerned minister worked hard and well. Nepal was saved from entering a situation similar to that of Sri Lanka. The country has been saved from becoming a failed state. In this sense, Nepal has moved forward,” said PM Deuba.
Referring to hydropower export to India and the ongoing construction of some large hydel projects, PM Deua said that Nepal’s potential to become rich soon has increased. He said Nepal was moving forward in an important way in this regard.
“Nepal is still in a transitional phase. We have to make democracy sustainable. Oli ji (former PM) dissolved the parliament for two times violating constitutional provisions. Therefore, it was important to save parliament, and we came together to do so as a coalition,” said the PM.
PM Deuba also thanked the leaders of the ruling coalition for their cooperation to run the government. – Rising Nepal
