Fifteen people killed in Arghakhanchi Force jeep accident

Narapani, Arghakhanchi – At least 15 people were killed in a Force jeep accident Sunday in Arghakhanchi.

The bus (Ba 2 Kha 7984) en route to Sandhikharka from Butwal skidded off the road and fell off the cliff at Dahakhola in Narpani VDC of the district.


As many as 15 people, including driver and his helper, died on the spot when the Force jeep (Ba 2 kha 7948) veered off the road and plunged 200 metres down. One person died while being rescued.


According to the police report, the decease has been identified as vehicle owner Narayan Prasad Panthi of Bangi VDC of Arghakhanchi, driver Rajendra Patel of Chanauta of Kapilvastu, Sita Basnet of Wangla VDC of Arghakhanchi, Meghraj Khanal of Shringa VDC of Gulmi and Krishana Prasad Chaudhary of Kapilvastu. Other decease persons are yet to identified.


The bus was coming from Butwal of Rupandehi district when the fatal accident happened at around 5 pm. The incident site is about 7 kilometres far from the district headquarters.


Five others have been referred to Butwal (Lumbini hospital) for further treatment.
