Thapa justifies protests against government facilities

KATHMANDU: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal, Kamal Thapa, has said that protests from the commoners against the government decision to provide the state facilities to the former presidents, prime ministers, home ministers and speakers was natural.


Talking to media persons in Bharatpur today, Chairman of RPP-Nepal Thapa said that a handful of political parties are exploiting the state facilities by imposing a political syndicate in the country.


Thapa who is also the former home minister during the direct rule of former king said that disappointment among the public is on the rise and the former top bureaucrats also protested the government decision as it was against the commoners’ aspiration.


Thapa also said that the former bureaucrats and civil society have respected the people’s aspirations by protesting the government’s move to offer a heavy facility to the former VIPs.


He also appealed to all to take to the streets against those attempting to devour the state coffer.


On a different context, Thapa came heavily down on some political parties for trying to impose unitarianism in the name of consensus adding that this was the time to go for fresh elections after the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly (CA). RSS
