मंसिर २४ गते, २०६९ मा प्रकाशितNEPALGUNJ – A girl in Bardiya district was burnt alive on Friday for refusing to marry a man.
Siwa Hasim, 16, of Gulariya-8 was burnt alive by neighbour Babu Khan, 23, after Hasim refused to elope with Khan. Police said that Khan, a mechanic at a motorcycle garage, poured kerosene over her body and set her on fire.
Hasim has sustained 90 percent of burn and is receiving treatment at Bheri Zonal Hospital. Doctors involved in her treatment have referred to take her to hospital with better facilities but Hasmi’s family cannot afford treatment in such a hospital due to their poor economic condition.
